What an end to another Great Year and the great work done by the outgoing Executive Committee and welcoming the new Executive Committee headed by the new president Kevin Broughton!!!!
The theme of the evening was so aptly chosen which was ‘End Of A Great Year’ indeed it was!!!
The meeting opened on time and Kevin P began by introducing the guests, and by the same token he took on standing in for Zainab as the Toastmaster and Audrey as one of the speakers.
It was such a pleasant experience for all Toastmasters and guests present when they were all involved in two events that made the evening a great learning and fun experience.
- Kevin P involved most of the guests in a training session of introducing a speaker, where each speaker was given 2 minutes to speak to a potential speaker and come forward and introduce them. The guests all looked like they enjoyed this short training.
- Rik introduced the Table Topics based on a scenario to selected speakers and the audience were then asked to vote if they felt the speaker’s story to be true or false. Once again this turned out to be very enjoyable by all the members present, who were all having a fun time. This was a first for many gust members….Well Done!!!
All three prepared speeches were very well presented with their personal experiences and role plays that emphasised their message to the audience who once again were very involved with their opinions and comments.
Bles gave her ice breaker speech, where she gave a true meaning on how Blessed she was throughout her journey in life….Great speech!!!
All Evaluators gave some useful feedback to all prepared speeches and table topic speakers. Some used the CRC method and this was taken well by all as a very useful tool to listen and to learn.
Certificates and a warm welcome was given to two new members – Celia and Kuldip
A ribbon was presented to Magda as the Area Director and a certificate was presented to Elena for the completion of the Speech Craft course.
The meeting ended on a very friendly note with all guests and members having a great day of fun and learning.
